Four Months Left: Take a Breath and Regroup
It’s September 1st, and some of us are thinking, “OMG, we only have four months left in 2026!”
Now we’re pulling out those goal lists and looking at everything we said we would accomplish. Some goals are complete, some are in progress, and a few haven’t been touched since January.
Before you panic, take a deep breath.
You don’t have to rush and force an entire year’s worth of goals into four months. Pause, regroup, and look at your list honestly. What still matters? What can realistically be completed? What do you need to let go?
This is where accountability comes in.
Accountability Starts With Honesty
Accountability means being honest about what you did, what you didn’t do, and the part you played in the outcome.
What blows my mind is hearing grown people refuse to take accountability for their own shit. Everyone makes mistakes ; but blaming everybody else, making excuses, or acting like you had nothing to do with the situation will keep you stuck.
Last night, I wasted wax while pouring candles. I could blame the wax, the temperature, or being tired; but I was the one pouring. Something went wrong, and now I have to figure out why so I don’t repeat it.
That doesn’t mean beating myself up. It means saying, “That didn’t go as planned. What was my part, and what can I do differently next time?”
You cannot fix what you refuse to admit.
Grace Is Not an Excuse
There is a difference between giving yourself grace and constantly giving yourself excuses.
Grace says, “I had a hard month, so I’m going to rest, regroup, and try again.”
An excuse says, “Nothing is my fault, and there is nothing I need to change.”
We can be gentle with ourselves while still being honest.
Choose three goals that truly matter for the rest of 2026. Make a realistic plan and take one small step at a time.
You don’t have to rush; but you do have to move.
Let September be your reset. Take a deep breath, clean up your space, review your goals, and hold yourself accountable.
We still have time to finish 2026 strong ;not perfectly, but with honesty, intention, and accountability.
What is one goal you’re holding yourself accountable for during these final four months?
